Frozen Ground

The rain came down, it fell upon the ground
It washed away the snow
Oh the rain came down, upon the frozen ground
And it washed away our sins

As I sit here alone in my cabin on the hill
Just watching the wood fire burn
I remember the days before you went away
Peace could not be found

I go back to the days when life was still so kind
You brought me in from the cold
Now I am so old, you left me in the snow
One day the judgment will come

Spring will start the thaw when March winds fade
I long to see the sun again
When there’s blue sky above, summer will be near
The darkness will fade like a dream
